Should IG of police be removed?

Governor of Benue State has been clamouring for removal of IG of police Ibrahim Idris for inefficiency.

According to the governor, policemen have pre knowledge of Benue attack,  yet they couldn't stop it.

Abdulhaziz Yari the executive governor of Zamfara state also claimed he reported to the police before the onslaught on his people.

What is going on here?  Are they saying the truth?  I think IG of police should defend himself.
