GREENER PASTURE Grass is greener on the other side, how green is the grass? Many have burnt their bridges so they would not look back. Each time I read about Nigerians that committed suicide abroad for fear of deportations my heart bled. So many years ago, people traveled abroad for purpose of education and most of the time they returned to their father land. Reverse is now the case, people resign from their reputable organisation to becoming street sweepers abroad. The most pathetic of the story is when individual believed coming back to the country is a death sentence after sojourning abroad. It is high time we fixed our country, Nigeria has the potentials to be great again.

Every notable leaders have commented and express their condolences as a result of unfortunate building collapse that ended prime life of wonderful children in Ita- Faaji Lagos. This is not the first time we have experience building collapse especially in Lagos, was any lesson learnt? Bribery and corruption is the bane of our development.. The collapse building was marked for demolition, how come it was spared?.. We keep moving in circle, now Nigeria children Are bearing the brunt of failed state. There is always a day of reckoning , these so called leaders will pay someday.

Government agencies in charge of building needs to wake up from slumber and do the needful. Weak structures in the metropolis poses grave danger to the inhabitants and drastic steps needs to be taken to avert potential danger. Agencies of government that have the oversight functions to ensure strict compliance to building processes and techniques should be purged and bad eggs among the personnel should be shown the way out.
