Local government election is by the corner, the streets are decorated with numerous campaign posters.I overheared a candidate campaigning yesterday and like any typical Nigerian politician he promised to provide water,good roads etc.
The forthcoming election had claimed it's casualties,an aspirant nicknamed hamburger was killed in Oshodi.A young girl was abducted to force her dad to drop his political ambition.
Our politics remain do or die, only God knows how many aspirants on line to be killed before the election kick off.
This is the state of some roads in Nigeria, some of our roads are dilapidated, non motor-able and broken down. Government at all levels have responsibility to provide basic amenities which includes good roads to the masses. It would be difficult to come to terms that there is presence of any government in the city where we have this roads. People pay taxes to government, government has the sole responsibility to provide infrastructures and things that would make life meaningful.
