Leadership of National Assembly has come under heavy criticism from the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.He had in the past called them "unarmed robbers", according to the former
president, 75% of Nigerians are poor and the reason for the poverty in the land could be traced
to stealing in high places.
The lawmakers have enriched themselves to the detriment of the poor masses, we are not developed
because the fund available for capital expenditure is nothing compare to what our lawmakers earned,
our democracy is too expensive and something must be done immediately.
