IG of police turned down Senate invitation.

Inspector General of police Ibrahim Idris has shunned Senate invitation to appear before it.

He was summoned to appear before the Senate over Dino Meleaye arrest.

Should IG of police be queried because a senator was arrested?

It is strange in this part of the world to bring lawmakers to book, this must have informed their decision to invite the IG of police.

Dino Meleaye was alleged to have given firearms to hoodlums. What is the furore all about, he that alleges must proove.

Invitation sent to IG of police is not necessary.

SARS Reformation Long Overdue.

Special anti-robbery squad reformation is long overdue, reports of violence, maltreatment of people in the hands of SARS officers leaves much to desire. The squad is established primarily to stem the tide of armed robbery, when idea of forming an organisation like SARS was conceived there is nothing like Yahoo-Yahoo or 419. One is surprised that they abandoned their core duties and lay siege on fraudsters, many innocent people have been killed. Government should ensure that the reformation is total, police are suppose to be friends of the masses, it is imperative they conduct themselves professionally.

END OF THE ROAD FOR IFE-IBADAN ROADS

Motorist plying Ife-Ibadan road will heave a sigh of relief temporarily after arrest of some of the Fulani men that terrorize road users almost on daily basis. Many innocent lives have been snuffed out, these undesirable elements have field days and it seems those who are suppose to check their activities are dragging their feet. Now that government is ready to combat crime on our highway, the tempo should be sustained.
