Did She Truly Resigned?

Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun who was enmeshed in certificate forgery scandal was said to have resigned her appointment.

Having been indicted by some detractors, she thought it wise to bow out.Many active politicians do not see forgery as a big deal.

Some of them have been prosecuted in the past on the same issue but they came out unscathed, you know in Nigeria everything goes.

Nigeria would be better if people own up and take take responsibility for their actions and inaction.

SARS Reformation Long Overdue.

Special anti-robbery squad reformation is long overdue, reports of violence, maltreatment of people in the hands of SARS officers leaves much to desire. The squad is established primarily to stem the tide of armed robbery, when idea of forming an organisation like SARS was conceived there is nothing like Yahoo-Yahoo or 419. One is surprised that they abandoned their core duties and lay siege on fraudsters, many innocent people have been killed. Government should ensure that the reformation is total, police are suppose to be friends of the masses, it is imperative they conduct themselves professionally.

Effects of Jungle Justice.

A thief was killed in Lagos, he pleaded to be set free but his tormentors refused. jungle justice was meted out to him. He has been terrorizing the area for a while before he was finally caught, is jungle justice the way forward? One of the reasons why people meted out jungle justice to criminals is because of defective criminal justice system. In the 21st century we still act primitively and government look away, jungle justice encourages break down of law and order and it should be discouraged. Law enforcement agents have a lot to do, taking bribes from condemned criminals in order to set them free encourages act like this. Nigeria is not a Banana Republic.
