Senator Dino Meleaye has been in stormy water that if care is not taken may likely take him away. The grouse he has with Nigeria police is not very clear, from one trouble to another. He was once ambushed by unknown gunmen as he claimed, now he is also claiming that IG of police has been on his trail and he has been targeted for execution. The distinguished senator may be paying the price of being vocal and courageous in the face of intimidation. If the truth would be told, nobody fight sitting government and win, Dino may likely not be an exception.       

Describing Rivers State politics as one of the deadliest is saying the obvious.Demise of a ward leader recently leaves much to desire. Our politics is do or die, innocent blood are shed on daily basis for political reasons.The most painful thing is that killers most of the time go Scott free, the long arms of the law never caught up with them. Sponsors of this senseless killings are known, but our system is not designed to apprehend and prosecute men of timber and caliber. Killings of perceived enemies is not politicking but a criminal act which should not be swept under the carpet.

To many people, this is de javu , most of the time motorist go through hell during festive period.The PENGASAN will wait until a busy period like this before they expressed their grievances. Fuel scarcity had crippled the economy in the past and attendant effect is untold hardship.Thankfully the recurring artificial fuel scarcity was not experience this year. Government should be given kudos for this feat.

Traffic enforcers, LASTMA  or whatever names we call them are loosing their men to traffic violators who would not want to be cautioned. It is either they are beaten black and blue or shot . The officer in the picture was trying to enforce traffic rule at the expense of his life, is standing in the front of a car bonnet the best way to arrest offenders?

Listening to callers on Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan airing their views on a Program called She- matter.The topic of discourse borders on children who required financial assistance to be operated upon in UCH. The hospital asked the parents to get the money before treatment could commence. Listeners  from abroad castigated our corrupt leaders , how recklessly they manage the economy and compare them to their contemporary in developed countries. A caller from UK said the children would have been taken care of free of charge in a place like UK, little wonder life expectancy is low here. Go on the street now, you see campaign posters everywhere, nothing has changed, it is the same old manifesto, what a country!

Government neglect is evident in some part of Lagos. I am really surprise to hear that residents of some areas in Lagos pay some money to use available makeshift pedestrian bridge in their locality The core duties of government in countries that practise advanced democracy is not to paste campaign posters everywhere asking for undeserved votes Government has the duties to provide infrastructure not the other way round..

Peoples Democratic Party are fully set to wrestle power from the ruling party, former vice president Atiku Abubakar campaign team was in Ilorin the state capital of Kwara state. The crowd that attended the electioneering was massive and this would go a long way to ginger the swagger of the aspirant. Ruling party is not resting on their oars, preparation is on-going to keep contending parties where they belong.

Call it a bad habit, you will not be further from the truth, open urination and defecation is an anti-social behaviour. Littering of our roads with dirt and feces is an eye sore and should not be condone. Stringent law should be promulgated that will see that offenders are punished, dirty environment breeds insects and this leads to epidemics if not timely curtailed .
