Pidgin or Queens English

Medium of communication in Nigeria that is generally acceptable to all is English language.In other words English language is our lingua franca.

Recently, ACP Shogunle advised people to talk to our police in pidgin English .

Does that imply they can't comprehend or speak English language? The answer is no.

The truth of the matter is, they feel more comfortable if the medium of exhange is

Pidgin English.

If this will prevent unprovoke attack on the massess, then let us plunge in ..

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a prolific writer and he recently wrote to President Buhari on vital economic issues. Some of the points he raised in his letter are salient and if adhered to would bring conspicuous transformation. While addressing some group of women at Eko Hotel and suites, he told them he would be writing another letter very soon. My worry is this, he had the opportunity to transform this country, Lagos-Ibadan express way and other major roads were left unattended to during his regime. Trillion of dollars was spent on power during his eight years tenure, yet power supply under his watch was comatose. Nigerians are bless with expanded sense of history, posterity would someday assess individual contribution to Nigeria project.
