WELCOME TO LARRYBABA BLOG

Happy Birthday to God General.

Deliver from ritual killers.......... True life story.

A lady told a friend her story of how she escaped from rituals killers. She boarded a vehicle(bus) in front of law school on Lagos Island. The bus supposed to be going to Oshodi,  as soon as she boarded the vehicle, she discovered that some of the passengers were fast asleep. The vehicles seat has been charmed and whoever boarded the vehicles would loose consciousness and sleep off. Fortunately, the charms had no effect on her as she remained awake. Her refusal to sleep got the abductors angry and they threatened to throw her out of the vehicles. From Lagos Island the vehicles drove to Ibadan,  and along the line she started praying to God to deliver her from the evil men. Finally God answered her prayer,  she was dropped and other victims were not that lucky.

Kaduna crisis, one violence too many.

Kaduna crises left scores injured and about 12 people were killed, close to 1000 houses was set ablaze. The fracas according to reliable source was between some christian and Muslim youths, many cars were burnt, so many people have lost their source of livelihood. Our security condition is precarious and our leaders are dead confuse, nobody seems to know the way out. Government should know that the only way to keep the youth out of the street is by providing gainful employment for them, an idle hands is the Devil workshop. From one crisis to another, violence destroy lives and it hinders meaningful developments, government should stop paying lip service to securing lives and properties, innocent lives are being lost on daily basis.

Issuance of quit notice by Fulanis herdsmen.

Community of Mbatoho in Benue would have to leave their village or risk being killed by atrocious herdsmen. Ultimatum was issued to them to vacate their homes. This is the time security agency needs to be on top of their games. We need to be proactive, aren't we tired of senseless killings?

He will rob again if pardon........... Suspect.

"People in government steal " this is the reason given by unrepentant robbers caught by Niger state police command. He also blamed recession and economic downturn for his voyage in the world of crimes. He affirmed that nothing would stop him from going back into crimes if released. This is a desperate situations, government should rise up to the challenge of making our teeming youths gainfully employed . Read more news on www.larrynewport.blogspot.com

Questions begging for answers

Many Nigerians were jailed in China for offences that ranges from overstaying their visa,  and other sundry crimes. Nigeria policemen have arrested some Chinese nationals for various offences such as importation of contrabands, adulteration and some other serious offences. The question begging for answer is that, how many of these guys are in prison.

Peace Corps bill should be assent to law.

President Buhari refused to assent peace Corp bill into law. One of the reasons he gave is that, their role is purely duplication of existing security agency. What would be the fate of personnel that have been recruited? Government should create more jobs, we have what it takes, Nigeria is capable of paying her workforce well,  assenting of peace Corp bill into law should be reconsider.

New minimum wage , a pittance?

Minister of Labour and Productivity said government is set to announce new minimum wage in September. The current minimum wage is 18,000 naira, this could barely take any worker home. How much is government Willing to pay, the new minimum wage should not be less than 50000 . With the current inflationary rate, anything less than that is pittance .

Nigeria needs new breeds of leaders.

Nigeria political landscape is somewhat monotonous. We keep recycling same old face and there is no significant impact in our lives. This may be the right time to inject new blood,  Nigerians should think outside the box and elect new crop of leaders that will bring the genuine transformation we desire. PDP ruled for sixteen years, they only enrich themselves and made the people poorer. What impact has APC made so far,  we should think beyond party affiliations and vote for capable individual.

Army postpones recruitment.

Nigeria army has postponed it's recruitment exercise into 77 regular intakes. Reasons for postponement is not very clear.I think this is not the right time to shelve recruitment. Nigeria needs more security personnel to fight insurgency, all hands must be on deck to destroy Boko Haram strong hold. Qualified personnel should be recruited, this is not the time to play nepotism.

Boko Haram is broke.

The terrorist group called Boko Haram are not only terrorist organisation they are armed robbers. One of their antics was to attack and kidnap for ransom,  when they attacked Chibok, their intention was to rob their targets which they did by stealing available foods stuff at the dormitory. News have it that ransom was paid before some of the Chibok girls were released. It  is likely they are broke, and this informed their decision to strike again at Dapchi kidnapping 105 students.

Between EL Rufai and Sheun Sanni.

Nasir-EL Rufai the executive governor of Kaduna State is ready to teach Senator Sanni some bitter lesson. He sued the senator for calling him unprintable names sequel to his demolition of APC headquarter in Kaduna. The rivalry between EL-Rufai and Sheun Sanni has been on for a while. Hopefully Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu reconciliatory group would be able to unite the duo.

Anti-open grazing law, three herdsmen lost their freedom.

Sequel to enactment of anti-open grazing law,  three herdsmen have lost their freedom in Markudi. Contravening the law, they were sentence to one year jail term. Though, they claimed they were unaware of the law, the judge didn't spare them. Hopefully we may get things right this time around.

Dapchi attack leave sour taste in our mouth,

We can not overemphasize importance of security in our national life. Most of the time our security men are caught unaware,  what happen to our intelligence gathering mechanism. Terrorist don't just attack their target,  they map out strategy, how come we are too docile to be ahead of them. Dapchi attack has reenacted Chibok scenario. War against insurgency is far from being won.

Politicians, Nigeria greatest enemies

Professor Attahiru Jega, the former INEC chairman said politicians are the greatest enemies Nigeria has, the professor of political science was talking from experience.    Remember 2015 election was almost ruined by Orubebe, what saved the situation was Jega sense of calmness.  Some politicians hate free and fair elections, many of them occupied their current position illegally

Defaming animals in the name of corruption.

Animals are in serious trouble with some corrupt individuals, their character are defame on a regular basis. A snake that was alleged to have swallow sum of 36million naira in JAMB office has not been arrested, now we have story of a monkey and horse that made away with people resources. We should stop this nonsense before animals revolt.I hope someone would not talk about lion devouring a whole government parastatal budget, you know lion share is always the biggest.

Yobe girls school attack: Any lessons learnt from Chibok?

The deadly terrorist group struck again, they invaded Government secondary school Dapchi Yobe State. Reports have it that some of the female students were attacked and some were declared missing. Similar attack occurred in Chibok some years ago. While government is yet to free about 1l2 girls that are still in captivity. they  have failed again to protect innocent children in Yobe. Government failure is  a clear indication that lesson were not learnt from Chibok. They  have a duty to protect lives and properties, any government that fail in this regard is a failure.

Corporal punishment :Teacher beat pupil to death.

A teacher in Zamfara state flogged a child to death. Corporal punishment is required in schools to correct our ward's. There is a whole lot of difference between child abuse and discipline. The teacher in question has been arrested, he will be charge for murder or manslaughter. Corporal punishment should be meted out with discretion. Beatings that could claim the life of a child is child abuse.

EL-Rufai perceived anti-party activity.

El-Rufai, the executive governor of Kaduna State has been tongue lashed by many APC faithfuls for working against the interest of the party. Demolition of APC headquarter by Kaduna State government leaves much to desire, the house was donated by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi to the party. Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Meleaye  also have his house marked for demolition in Kogi state. Pulling down of perceived opponents building or structure has become a vendetta tools adopted by sitting governors.

Foreign trained doctor failure rate at MDCN exams.

Isaac Ajewole Result of MDCN exam released shows that 246 foreign trained doctors out of 600 passed their examination and were inducted. Some of the medical school abroad are not reckoned with, the outcome of the exams is an indication that schooling abroad does not make the trainee an expert in its chosen discipline. Many a times patients are not given proper diagnosis and more often than not this leads to untimely death of the patient. Government should put in place stricter measures to check quackery in our health facilities, it would go a long way in saving innocent lives.

America political scientist rated Trump poorly.

Some group of political scientist came together to rate people who have occupied position of America president. Donald Trump was rated the worst President in the history of the country till date. In Nigeria,  from 1999 till date we have had four presidents. Who among the four is the best and the worst?

Buhari is set to sell confiscated properties.

Government is set to sell confiscated properties recovered from corrupt politicians and business men. It is a step in the right direction, but government should ensure judicious use of proceeds from the sales of the properties. Large percentage of the money should be use for infrastructural development. Jobs creations is key to economy development, looted funds can be use to create jobs.

Averagely an inmate spent 14000 daily in Nigeria prison?

The statement credited to Minister of interior Abdulrahman Danbazau that government spend 14000 naira on each inmates daily. This assertion should be subjected to investigation.Nigeria prison needs rehabilitation, inmates are poorly fed. If the said amount is spent daily, we would not have a situations where inmates are mal nourish and some loosing their lives in despicable conditions.

Commissioner of police in Lagos is working.

He was appointed as the commissioner of police in Lagos state on September 5th 2017. Imohimi Edgal has written his name in gold as a professional police officer, his assumptions of office in Lagos brought an end to deadly reigns of cult group called Badoo. Recently a NURTW serial killer was arrested and he made some confessional statement that will be helpful to the authority.                                                 Edgal has done well, he will need to do more considering volatile nature of Lagos State.

Cross carpeting

As 2019 election draw nearer,  we would witness many politicians leaving their party for another party.  You may call it political greener pastures, political heavyweights from PDP in oyo state have cross carpet to APC.  Also we have seen some APC member crossed to PDP,  though very few.  Some school of thought believed this is not proper and it is a pointer to the fact that our political class lacks sense of direction and ideas.

Invasion of Akure airport by cows and insecurity in our port.

On several occasions on our high way we run into herds of cows, in some instances it could result into fatal accident. Invasion of Akure airport by cows is embarrassing,  the reasons we experienced this is because we lack sense of shame. It is an indication that our port is not secured and it is porous . A flight operator once have their exit door flung open while the aircraft was on motion. In a sane climes, things like this would not be over look.

NURTW serial killer apprehended.

The erstwhile chairman of N. U. R. T. W would be in deep water. Revelation from apprehended serial killer Adeola Williams had linked him to murder of Kunle Poly assistant. He revealed he was contracted to kill Kunle Poly,  he narrowly escaped death, but he was able to kill his assistant. NURTW is enmeshed in violence and thorough investigation should be carried out to get to the root of the matter.

For how long will our democracy be nascent?

Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Meleaye was to be recalled by his constituency for lack of performance.  The process hit brick wall, South Africa President was forced to resign by his party when they passed vote of no confidence on him.  When will our democracy grow to that level, will our democracy be nascent for ever?

Should IG of police be removed?

Governor of Benue State has been clamouring for removal of IG of police Ibrahim Idris for inefficiency. According to the governor, policemen have pre knowledge of Benue attack,  yet they couldn't stop it. Abdulhaziz Yari the executive governor of Zamfara state also claimed he reported to the police before the onslaught on his people. What is going on here?  Are they saying the truth?  I think IG of police should defend himself.

REVIEWING OF INEC TIME-TABLE

I Senate plans to review INEC election time table is a welcome development.  House of representative and Senatorial election should be combined,  while gubernatorial election and presidential elections should be conducted on different days.  I think this would allow electorates to know whom they are voting for in the house of representative and senatorial election.

Release of UNIMAD Lecturers from Boko Haram:

Presiden Buhari has performed extremely well in terms of protecting territorial integrity of this nation. Firstly 60 percent of the Chibok girls have gain their freedom. Three lecturers from UNIMAD recently got their freedom from Boko Haram  Among those that were set free are the captured police wives. Mr President deserve to be encourage to do more. The remaining Chibok girls in captivity should not be abandoned.

Nigeria HIV prevalence rate.

Condom astronomical sales on Valentine.

Manufacturers of protective device called condom will be smiling to the bank. You are asking why? Despite the 70 percent increase in sales recorded on Valentine day, HIV infection is still high  in some countries. Abstinence is still the best approach to taming H. I. V monster.

Jacob Zuma statue remain intact.

He was forced by his party to resign, Jacob Zuma resigned and he ceased to be the president of South Africa. While holding sway as the president of South Africa, a statue was built by a South East governor to honour him. Some folks have been asking what would happen to the statue erected for him.

Florida shooting: World security is challenge.

Our world has become increasingly unsafe, government have failed to protect its citizens.Children are no longer safe in their schools, disgruntle element in the society take advantage of government shoddy preparation in fighting crimes and criminality. Florida shooting claimed the lives of 17 children and adult, what is government doing about gun control, we should not fold our arms and allow evil men to thrive. Nikolas Cruz, the assailant of innocent souls in Florida should be made to face the music, may the soul of the departed rest in peace.

Sheun Sanni for or against A. P. C.

Though he is a senator representing Kaduna central, and also a card carrying member of A. P. C. His outspokenness against his party beg for attention. At any available opportunity he castigates his party, and on several occasions he spoke vehemently against President Buhari leadership style. What would make a revered  member of a ruling party kick against his party policy. President Buhari recently appointed Bola Ahmed Tinubu to play a reconciliatory role, hopefully the likes of Sani will be invited and appeal to.

Battling scourge of rape in our society.

Rape is an act of sexual assault or molestation, taking carnal knowledge of the victims without their consent.Recently, rape has become a canker worm in our society and there is an urgent need to tame it. A man put his daughter in a family way, when asked why he condescend so low to engage in such an ignoble act, he said his daughter is beautiful and he would like to "feel" her before any other person does that. Victims of rape most of the time are too timid to speak up, this may be due to stigma associated with rape in our society. There is need for proper counselling  for victims of rape, they should not be cow to keep quiet, government at all levels should rise up to the occasion and ensure culprits are punished under the law.

How 22 students lost their lives in Kano road accident.

It was a gory sight as 22 children on excursion lost their lives in Kano. Accidents statistics released by FRSC last year was frightening. Causes of road accident are many, but one of the major causes is overspeeding. May the soul of the departed rest in peace, FRSC should be more proactive in saving lives of accident Victims. Mental alertness of drivers of any kind of vehicles should be checked.

A man killed his wife for infecting him with H.I.V

A man was sentenced to death for killing his wife, the accused was alleged to have stabbed the wife in the stomach. The reason for this dastardly act was because he claimed the wife infected her with H.I.V. Being so sure that he was infected by the wife was my concern, and if at all the woman really infected him, should he take laws into his hands.                                                               People should exercise restrains in dealing with with their spouse, killings under any guise or excuses is against the law of the land
