WELCOME TO LARRYBABA BLOG

Release of Looters list.

Minister of Information Alhaji Lai  Mohammed took a bold step by releasing names of looters. According to the Minister, their cases are before the court of competent jurisdiction. The opposition party believe the list is incomplete. Some PDP members that have decamped to ruling party have become inviolable. Some of the so called looters when finally convicted would settle for plea bargaining. Mentioning names of looters is not sufficient, conviction is key for deterrent.

Escaped suspects in Dino arms saga re-arrested

It was not yet Uhuru for senator Dino Meleaye as police rearrested the suspect that escaped in Dino Meleaye arms saga. All the six suspects escaped,  but police have been able to arrest two of them. I hope they wouldn't escape again,  once bitten twice shy. Senator Meleaye should not bother himself about the suspects that were rearrested. Every suspects is innocent except there is evidence that is overwhelming.

Africa leaders celebrates mediocrity.

Africa leaders uniqueness in celebrating mediocrity is legendary. South Africa president Ramphosa flew economy class and it was all over the internet. Presidential visit to Lagos State brought about total lock down. When they provide basic amenities,  they celebrate to high heaven,  what a world!

Police recovering of illegal firearms and border porosity

Recovering of cache of arms by the police speak volume of how porous our border is.  Firearms recovered from criminal elements should be enough to prosecute war against Boko Haram. Government should intensify effort to seize illegal firearms as 2019 election draw nearer. Some arms were confiscated at the seaport late last year, has anyone been brought to book? If there is no punitive measures, gun running may go on unabated.

Lagos dwellers trekked long distance due to Buhari visit.

If I am not mistaking, the last time Lagos dwellers went through harrowing experience like this was when the former first lady Patience Jonathan visited Lagos. The roads were blocked and people trekked long distance to their destinations, public transport vacated the roads. President Buhari is on working visit to Lagos to commission some notable projects in the metropolis. Many Lagosians would not forget his visit for a long time to come as people resolved to trekking long distance not out of their volition, but because the lock down was total. Nigeria will grow up someday, why the lock down? Does it mean if there were no lock down Mr President would not be secured.

Lagos agog as Buhari Visit.

The last time President Buhari was in Lagos was during electioneering in 2015, Lagos state is an A.P.C dominated state. Lagos state today will receive the August visitor in the person of President Buhari to commission some projects. The executive governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode has been able to live above board, Ikeja bus terminal was completed in a record time, this facilities would herald urbanization Lagos should be known for. Urban city like Lagos require efficient transportation system. Mr President will also commission some other notable projects as he visit Lagos, I welcome Mr President to Lagos " Itesiwaju Eko, lo je wa logun".

Theatre of the absurd : Police claimed suspect in Dino Meleaye arms saga have escaped.

Dino Meleaye should be excited now,  Nigeria police force is rated the worst in the world.  Senator Meleaye was alleged to  have given out riffles to two hoodlums.  The senator was declared wanted for illegal possession of arms. It was theatre of the absurd when police declared that the two suspect escaped from custody.  This is laughable but one is not surprise.

Happy Easter:Enjoy this song from Mark Butterworth............Majesty.

16 years of misrule and PDP Chairman apology.

National chairman of PDP apologised for 16 years of misrule. Mr Uche Secondus own up and admitted his party failure. The treasury was emptied, no meaningful development, the country was practically stagnated. How would the apology redeemed so many things that have gone bad. Many women have become widow because money earmarked to fight insurgency was diverted. Dilapidated roads that was left unattended to had claimed many lives How much of apology would be sufficient to give to the dead. Electorates in 2019 would decide if the apology was accepted .

Atiku declaration for presidency and Nigeria political intrigue

It is now beyond the realm of speculations that former vice president Atiku Abubakar has finally declared to run for position of president. He decamped from A. P C to P. D. P, it is obvious the ticket would not fall on his lap. Sule Lamido and some contestants are also eyeing PDP ticket If Atiku Abubakar eventually clinch the ticket, he would likely be running against President Buhari. Time will tell who would emerge as Nigeria president come 2019.

Buhari : Different stroke for different folks

America billionaire Bill Gates condemned President Buhari economic blueprint. Northern elders forum also rejected his nomination as their candidate come 2019. While the bashing was on-going, President Buhari bags Martins Luther's King exceptional Africa leadership awards.  I will conclude it is different strokes for different folks. My president should provide jobs for the unemployed and makes Power supply stable.

Watch:People scampering for contrabands.

https://www.facebook.com/GossipMillNaija/videos/916370495236132/?t=37 More than 80 percent Nigerians live below poverty level, if people were not hungry would they be scampering for contrabands. These products are meant to be destroyed by Customs. Is this not a wake up call for sensitive government? We can not continue like this. When you tell politicians people feeds from dunghill they will say it is not true, has this video not confirm it.

MMM Finally died

Sergey Mavrodi the ponzi scheme founder MMM is dead. He died of heart related problems at the age of 62. His scheme MMM was popular then, many participants lost their hard earn money. It is an end of Ponzi era.

T. Y Danjuma remarks about herdsman.

The statement credited to T. Y Danjuma the former chief of  army staff in Nigeria from July 1975 to October 1979 is weighty. General Danjuma advised people under the siege of herdsmen attack to defend themselves. He was quoted to have said the military is colluding with herdsmen From all indications, he may not be farther from the truth,  invasion of villages was not carried out in a jiffy, how come people were left to their fate. Military authority in some instances have pre knowledge of the attack, yet it could not be prevented. Danjuma has spoken,  government should look inwards and remove bad eggs among the soldiers.

Amnesty for Boko Haram ?

When President Buhari declared amnesty for any repentant Boko Haram terrorist member,  he was roundly condemned. Boko Haram terrorist have killed many innocent souls and they are becoming more atrocious than ever before. Government once declared that they have defeated the terrorist group, this is a blatant lies. If amnesty to the dreaded group would solve the problem why can't we try that. Nigeria military have killed many of these criminals yet they keep multiplying, if amnesty is the way forward so be it.

Government should declare state of emergency on Lagos -Abeokuta road.

Pockets of pot holes strewn along Lagos -Abeokuta expressway .I doubt if any government functionaries use this road. Pains of commuters that ply this road have become unbearable. Drivers complained bitterly about damaged caused by the roads to their vehicles. Executive governor of Ogun state could take responsibility of fixing the road,  he does not have to wait for Federal government. How is government tackling pains caused by dilapidated roads Tax payers deserve to see how their money is being used in infrastructure development. President Buhari should take the bull by the horns and do the needful.

Dino Meleaye may have run like Usain Bolt.

News making rounds that distinguished Senator Dino Meleaye has fled the country is unconfirmed. He bawled out Yahaya Bello and APC led government. The reasons for taking a French leave may be as a result of his security that was withdrawn. Senator Meleaye have myriad of court cases, the case ranges from illegal possession of firearm to other sundry cases. Hope he would return soon to continue his legislative  duties, if he fail to return his salary should be stopped, no work no pay.

Africa backwardness and lnept leadership

Third World country, developing countries, shithole country , these are some of the derogatory adjectives Africa is being called. Africa continent have all what it takes to be great, as a matter of factly civilization start from Africa. Our problem is leadership, Robert Mugabe would not relinquish power if force was not applied. Jacob Zuma is facing corruption charges,  former president Jonathan has so many questions to answer. Africa backwardness is cause by poor leadership.

President read riot act to the service chief.

President Buhari has read the riot act to the service chiefs.  He said laxity on their path would no longer be entertained.  It was speculated that Military were informed before Dapchi abduction took place.  Mr President unequivocal said Boko Haram member's that are ready to embrace peace will be given amnesty.

Former President To Write More Letters.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a prolific writer and he recently wrote to President Buhari on vital economic issues. Some of the points he raised in his letter are salient and if adhered to would bring conspicuous transformation. While addressing some group of women at Eko Hotel and suites, he told them he would be writing another letter very soon. My worry is this, he had the opportunity to transform this country, Lagos-Ibadan express way and other major roads were left unattended to during his regime. Trillion of dollars was spent on power during his eight years tenure, yet power supply under his watch was comatose. Nigerians are bless with expanded sense of history, posterity would someday assess individual contribution to Nigeria project.

Dapchi girl refused to Renounce Christian faith

Sequel to the release of 105 Dapchi girls, many people have been pouring encomium on APC led government. Some critics claimed they could smelt a rat ,they believed it was stage manage. One of the girls is still in captivity, she had refused vehemently to denounce her Christian faith. Boko Haram terrorist are infidel they are not Muslim . I hope very soon she would be left off the hook and reunited with her family.

PDP A WEAK OPPOSITION ?

Nigeria democracy will grow if there is strong opposition, ruling party needs strong opposition to bring out the best in incumbent leadership, democracy without meaningful opposition is no democracy.  The two leading political parties in Nigeria are A.P.C and P.D.P. During the last administration, opposition party did some damage to the image of ruling party. From the look of things, it seems P.D.P as a party is unskillful in playing the role of opposition, opposition party should criticize constructively in order to put ruling party on their toes. Aside from Governor of Ekiti State who double as PDP "spokesperson", it seems pdp have lost its voice.

Retired NNPC Staff Sentence To Death.

Life sometimes could be very complicated and more often than not people who find it difficult to control their anger get into trouble they did not bargain for. For having illicit affairs with his daughter, Douglas Ojugbo paid the supreme price. He was shot dead by Mr Elwwana a retired staff of NNPC. Should a man takes law into his hand? He was convicted of murder by High Court sitting in Calabar Cross Rivers States. Though, the defence  counsel pleaded for leniency, law would have to take its course, if there is any lessons to be learnt, I think anger is a MONSTER

Did GLOBACOM truly sacked married women ?

The world recently celebrated womens day, some couple of weeks ago it was celebration galore in some churches and religious centers as they appreciated mothers for their important roles in building our society. Gender equality is key, what a woman can do, I believe a woman can do it better as the sayings goes. The telecommunication giant that sacked 90 of its workforce that are married women is being unfair. Has getting married become a burden on an establishments? The single ladies that are not sacked now wont they get married someday? What is the rationale for relieving married women of their duties? There are many questions begging for answers. Nigeria Labour Congress was created to fight and uphold rights of workers, it seems they are toothless bull dog.Drastic steps should be taken to reverse this anomalies.

Past administration fund misappropriation

Former French President Nicholas Sarkozy was held by police, he was alleged to have collected 50m Euro campaign funds from Muammar Ghadafi. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo revealed that the last administration made away with 3b dollars. In one single transaction sum of 100billion and 289 million dollars were released few weeks to the election. If all this allegation are true,  how come former president has not been invited for questioning? Nigeria is far from being a tyro in democratic experiment, we have only refuse to do the right thing. Until we stop having a sacred cow and ready to bring every offenders to book regardless of their position,  our growth would be stunted.

Dapchi girls regain freedom

It was a cheering news that Dapchi girls have been set free. 110 girls from Dapchi regain their freedom this morning, they lost their freedom some couple of months ago when they were kidnapped. President Buhari visited Dapchi and he promised he would not rest until all the missing girls return. Kudos to President Buhari and APC led government.

Ekiti State government Urban renewal Agenda.

Governor Ayodele Fayose, the executive governor of Ekiti State could not be pacified by Ewi of Ado-Ekiti. He was hell bent in pulling down structures in his urban renewal bids. The governor who was visibly angry, tried to tamed his anger but registered his grievances to the king that he should be treated as the incumbent  governor of the state. He promised to pull down more houses and encourage people to brace up to the challenge, he reiterated his zeal to work until his last day in office

Access to technology and the attendants problems: Murder of Taxify driver

TECHNOLGY AND CRIME   Life has become meaningful with introduction of some facilities that ease the way we commute from one place to another, the way we made purchases without leaving comfort of our homes. Some of these developments are novel to our society and most people that are literates are embracing it.With your mobile phones you can install taxify and uber app, with these app on your mobile phone you can contact Uber and Taxify driver . The story of a Taxify man that was killed by two armed robbers reminded me of how Jumia sales delivery agent was killed in Port-Harcourt, he delivered i phone to two customers who eventually lured him to his death. The taxify driver was stabbed in the stomach and they made away with his vehicle, thankfully the two armed robbers were arrested. With the alarming rate of crime in our society, should we conclude Nigeria is not ripe for this kind of services? Some measures needs to be put in place in order not to jeopardize the lives

Dino Meleaye in the eye of the storm.

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district Dino Meleaye has been accused of illegal possession of prohibited fire a rms. Two political thugs who claimed to be working  for the senator alleged that he gave them two Ak 47 rifles. Is government vilifying Dino Meleaye for his stand on some national issues? Most politicians have political thugs that feather their nest and unleash terror on their opponents. Now that a case of criminal  conspiracy  and illegal possession of prohibited arms has been filed, let Dino come out to defend himself.

IG Withdrawal of policemen that guards........

Nigeria is poorly police,  370,000 police force is grossly insufficient to protect 170million Nigeria. According to United Nations recommendation, 222 police should protect 100,000 persons. IG of police is now ready to do the right thing by withdrawing policemen that guides VIP and "big men". This withdrawals portends danger for some of these big men. Senator Ben Bruce once suggested this. Government should provide adequate security for students in boarding school, we would not have had Dapchi and Chibok experience if half of policemen securing VIP were deployed to our schools.

Obasanjo meetings with Kwankwaso and others.

Politicians are holding series of caucus meetings in preparatory to 2019 general elections. Former president Olusegun Obasanjo met with some politicians to discuss how to  upstage the ruling party. Politicians are selfish people, have they forgotten power belongs to the people. Absolute power resides with people, your vote is your power. Some of these guys have their chances of turning things around but they failed woefully. The masses should decide who govern them come 2019, nocturnal meeting of politicians will not solve our problems.

Fuel crisis, not again in Nigeria........ NNPC.

You may describe him as an optimist, you will not be farther from the truth. NNPC GMD Dr Makainti Baru said Nigeria will never experience fuel crisis again. Nigeria is an OPEC member, yet we have no functional refinery not even modular refinery. Dr Baru should not only promise citizens, talk is cheap, what are the measures put in place to stop scarcity. Nigetians would not forgot last December in a hurry,  many people slept at filling stations for days. Let's keep our finger cross and watch fulfillment of Baru prophecy.

Incestuous union crashed, as man divorce his sister.

The 25 year old Mathematics teacher may have change his mind about "holy matrimony" between himself and his 17 year old sister. He said God told him to get married to his blood sister. All entreaties to convinced him fell on deaf ear. The community where the duo resides were against the incestuous union. Finally he gave in, and the priest would have to carry out some spiritual cleansing to avert likely consequence of his action.

Fayose, exemplar of grassroots politician.

Is there anything wrong with governor who chooses to eat by the road side, or buy roasted corn in hold up. Amiable governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose is an exemplar of grassroots politicians. He was in Enugu recently, he was video buying carrots and some other items in the market. Some people think it is unbecoming of a "big man" to stoop that low. What it is your view?

Pastor Adeboye betrayal of emotion in Benue.

The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye shed tears when he went to Benue on condolence visit. The Fulanis herdsmen who are yet to be declared terrorist group killed many innocent people. President Buhari also wept in Yobe State when he visited Dapchi where 110 pupils were abducted by Boko Haram. Governor Ortom cries everyday, he is tired of mass burial. When will our leaders stop crying? We must stop incessant lost of lives.

Like Julius Malema, like Dino Meleaye?

I refer to him sometimes as Nigeria Julius Malema Julius Malema is the leader of EFF(Economic freedom fighter) in South Africa. I love him for his outspokenness and bravery. Former president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma would never forget him in a hurry. Senator Dino Meleaye, a senator representing Kogi West senatorial district is in the eye of the storm. His effort to stop INEC from recalling process was thwarted by Appeal court. I love Dino Meleaye for his courage, but like any average politicians in Nigeria is he morally upright? What about fleet of cars he flaunts on social media? Is that how to liberate the masses as a freedom fighter.

One Nigeria is a mere slogan.

We shout one Nigeria, where is that one Nigeria. Nigeria unity has been traded on the altar of nepotism long time ago. The three tribes in Nigeria could not cohabit, Hausa and Yoruba in Ile-Ife lock horns some years ago, many lives were lost. What transpired between Hausa community and some miscreants in Ojota is sketchy as at the time this report is being filed. Shops were quickly shut down and people ran in different directions. An idle hands is still Devils workshop, people who foments trouble most of the time are idle. Nigeria unity should be our priority,  Nigerians should live anywhere they desire as enshrine in our constitution. One Nigeria will continue to be a slogan if government is not ready to do the needful.

Sheun Sanni can of worms

Senator Sheun Sanni must have opened a can of worms by revealing senators take home pay. A senator earns 13.5 million naira as running cost monthly plus other emoluments. Nigeria GDP is far lower compare to USA, yet a Senator in U. S. A earns 50million dollars per annum average of 4million naira per month . Politics in our context is for self aggrandizement and enrichment not for service.

Mad man that killed pupils in Ogun state blamed hunger.

This frustrated young man who claimed to be insane killed two pupils in Ogun state. He said he had not eaten for days and may be frustrated with the system. The only way he could vent his anger was to kill two pupils. Why did he not vent his frustration on himself,  innocent children paid the supreme price of systemic failure.

Kogi governor consent to colony establishment could not stop invasion.

He was the only governor so far that had endorsed the idea of cattle colony. He wanted the Fulanis and his kinsmen to cohabit.  It was unbelievably true that terror was unleashed in Kogi and 25 people were quickly despatch to the great beyond. How disappointed would the governor be,  he is loyal to President Buhari and he consented to establishment of colony which many other states rejected. What else would a governor do to stop invasion of herdsmen.

Senator Rasheed Ladoja may dump PDP.

As election year draw nearer, we are expecting to see many political permutation and combinations. Senator Rasheed Ladoja recently abandoned the party he founded in Oyo State to join PDP. It is very likely he decamped from PDP to another party. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is warming up to pick PDP tickets, though he is not going to get it on a platter of gold . In case he is not considered for the exalted position .He would get a soft landing in SDP. Do your online shopping on Jumia, Amazon by clicking on any of the banner on our blog.

Nigeria will produce the next Stephen Hawking if...

Education still remain the bedrock of any society, a country that neglects her educational sector pays dearly for it. Some countries of the world pay maximum attention to science. The British born Stephen Hawking is one of the products. He was born on the 8th Jan 1942 and he passed on the 14th of March. He was the first to set out theory on cosmology. Nigeria have many Stephen Hawking that work in banks. Fist class graduate in Physics, Chemistry and science based discipline have no business working in a bank and some unemployed. Government should assemble best brain, invest in research so that we can produce another Stephen Hawking.

Chibok and Dapchi abduction portrayed leadership failure, no basis for comparism.

President Buhari was quoted to have said his administration swiftly responded to abduction of 110 students in Dapchi.  He was comparing his response to distress call when those students were abducted to similar occurrence in Chibok.  There is no basis for comparism, the two scenario portrayed leadership failure. It is quite painful that our leaders bandy words  rather than owning up to dismal performance.
