Opinion of Inspector General police about sentencing kidnappers to death may not necessarily reduce spate of kidnapping. Nigeria law for an armed robber has not changed, the punishment is death penalty, I am not sure this had dettered criminal. Death penalty for kidnapper is a welcome development but permanent solution to the problem will be provision of jobs for the teeming masses.
Senate approval of independent candidates is a step in the right direction, a candidate will not have to contest under any political party.There are many challenges I foresee an independent candidate will have. 1) Funding of an election is not a childs play, our democracy is one of the most expensive in the whole world.An individual who has no political inclination may not stand any chance in our political climate. 2)Lack of transparency is another issue, if a whole political party could be rigged out, rigging election of an independent candidate will not be an issue.
I will agree with Pastor Tunde Bakare for calling Buhari, Obasanjo and Jonathan colonial master.Colonial master ruled us with iron hands before we forcefully took our independence from them. Our leaders are not accountable for their deeds in office, Obasanjo spent so much on power, yet it remain a failed project.Under the leadership of former president Jonathan so much money was laundered abroad, has he been brought to book? Until we begins to have leaders that are accountable to followers, Nigeria will not make an headway.

Mobile policeman shot a tanker driver to death in Apapa, I guess he was asking for bribe, this sad event is ongoing in Apapa.Two banks were set on fire by mobs in an attempt to lynch the policeman who fired the shot when he took a refuge inside one of the banks. Policemen have fundamental" human right" to demand bribe from motorist and if you refuse to give them you could be shot.Oh! what an hopeless situation, our country is dancing on the brink, I hope it will not slip.
An armed robbery suspect caught in the act, Saidi Aiyemojuba a graduate of agriculture is an armed robber.He was arrested in Lagos during foiled robbery operation, having served a jail term some years ago, he claimed he could not find a job after his release from prison. Now he went back to crime and he was caught, according to him he went back to crime to get some money in preparation for the arrival of his new baby. Agriculture is a viable discipline, he would have explored the vast field of agriculture to make some money rather than resulting to crime.

Our politics remain do or die, only God knows how many aspirants on line to be killed before the election kick off.

My heart bled the day I saw Warri prison, it is a storey building, the facilities is overstretched.The singular reason why many people become more hardened after serving their jail time could be seen in Warri prison and some other Nigeria prison. The leadership knows what to do to reform the prison but would not do it.As a matter of fact, Nigeria prison is meant for the poor.If the rule of law can be uphold and every convicted offenders whether rich or poor will end up in prison, then our prison reformation will be quick.

PDP hope has been renewed to some extent I presumed, confirmation of Markafi as the new PDP helmsman and victory of Ademola Adeleke signal beginning of new thing for the once hopeless party. It is very likely that the likes of Musiliu Obanikoro and Dr Doyin Okupe may have to retrace their step back into PDP. The party has been promising new life for Nigerians if they return back into position of authority, their 16 years of governance was a waste, I doubt if they have anything to offer Nigerians.
Exit of KAI(Kick against indiscipline) cadet in Lagos will throw some overzealous and corrupt guys into labour market.KAI officers were in charge of enviroment, they arrest hawkers and also seizes their wares. KAI officials have the responsibility to arrest people that cross highway and disregard uses of pedestrian bridge.They are doing a good job, but 99% of them are corrupt.More often than not they are after what they can extort from offenders, some of them are political touts and irresponsible. Government should re-constitute KAI for efficiency.

Adeleke victory at just concluded Osun West Senatorial district election has restored the voice of PDP leaders and other opposition party.The victory is well deserved, and it may signal the beginning of the end of APC rule in Osun state. Rauf Aregbesola performance is abysmal, doctors were being owed several months salaries, civil servant salary remain unpaid, LAUTECH students are still at home, yet he wanted people to vote for APC. People over time have learnt to vote with their feet for political party who would not meet their aspirations, APC may be on its way out in Osun state.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode seems to have lost it talking about security of lives and property in Lagos state.Students of Igbo nla has been kidnapped for the past two months, their parents cries everyday. What is Lagos state government doing about it ? Until war against Badoo cult became escalated government has been highly insensitive to the senseless killings that has been on-going in Ikorodu.
